Description

For the entire process of intervention tumor therapy through interstitial injection of β-radionuclides, mathematical models were discussed in terms of absorbed dose distribution, dose effect relationship and tumor curability levels. The following mathematical formulae for the tumor therapy were recommended, which were based, respectively, on, 1) radiation dose rate distribution in tumor volume, 2) clonogenic cells survival fraction distribution in tumor and 3) tumor control probability. The mathematical formulae could be used as the basic theory in the tumor treatment planning for interstitial intervention with β-radionuclides
