Description

Using the methods of IR- and UV-spectroscopy, thermal and X-ray phase analyses, the kinetics and mechanism of cadmium bis-(diethylenethiocarbamate), CdL2, pyrolysis in the atmosphere of nitrogen are studied. It is shown that decomposition process takes place in 3 stages. At the first stage the complex melting with simultaneous partial decomposition of dimeric molecules into simple ones occurs. The second stage is related to the splitting off dimer of two ligand molecules, formation of CdL in liquid phase and L transition into gaseous phase. At the third stage solid cadmium sulphide is formed. When analyzing kinetic parameters of the process it has been ascertained that CdL2 pyrolysis takes place in kinetic region and the third stage is the limiting one
