Investigation into the ability of arc plasmatron used for determination of platinum-group metals

Description

A new variant has been proposed of emission spectral determination of platinum metals (platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, and iridium) from solutions with the use of an arc plasmatron. A change in intensity of spectral lines has been studied in the presence of concomitant elements: Cu, Ni, Na. It has been established that only nickel exerts a quenching effect on the intensity of spectral lines of platinides. To eliminate the effect of the solution composition on the results of spectral analysis, various spectral buffers have been studied. Established is the possibility of determining platinides with the use of an arc plasmatron as a source of excitation of platinide spectra
