Clinical study of 131I treatment in lung metastases of differentiated thyroid carcinoma

Description

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficiency and side effect of 131I treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) with lung metastases. Methods: Retrospective statistical analysis of 32 DTC patients with lung metastases after surgery received 131I treatment in our hospital in the past decade. Before and after 131I treatment, to observed the changes of whole body scan with 131I, cervical and thoracic CT and serum thyroglobulin. Meantime, to analyzed the changes of peripheral blood, liver and kidney function. Results: The total effective rate of 131I treatment DTC with lung metastases reached to 84.4%. Also, different kind of blood cell, hemoglobin in peripheral blood, liver and kidney function were not affected by this method. Conclusion: Application of 131I treatment of DTC with lung metastases was a good means with significant clinical effect and few adverse reactions. (authors)
