Volume 5 consists of detailed Appendices L-N, which contain a variety of useful information on the operation of research reactors with reduced enrichment fuels. Summaries of these appendices can be found in Chapters 12-14 of Volume 1 of this guidebook. Appendix L contains a summary of necessary and recommended experiments for reactor startup. Appendix M provides information on the procedures and experiences of several reactor operators with both mixed and full cores with reduced enrichment fuels. Appendix N contains information on transportation of both fresh and spent fuel elements, on spent fuel storage, and on the US Department of Energy's receipt and financial settlement provisions for nuclear research reactor fuels.
