This patent describes an apparatus for generating high intensity x-rays. It comprises: a relativistic klystron; a high gradient linear accelerator driven by the relativistic klystron for producing high energy electrons; and an electron storage ring responsive to the electrons injected therein by the accelerator for generating high intensity x-rays
