Description

In recent years automatic systems have been improved for track counting and analysis in solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD). This study deals with the implementation of a continuous analysis procedure for fission tracks in Lexan SSNTD. To carry out this procedure, we have studied not only a new bath which colors during etching but also a semi-automatic counting program using the Quantimet 720 image analysis system. A comparison of the results obtained from the semi-automatic program and those obtained by optical counting using 250 Lexan detectors has confirmed our technique. (author)
