Radiative And Electroweak Penguin Processes in Exclusive B Decays

  • 1. University of California at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA (United States)

Description

A review of recent BABAR results on exclusive B → (ρ/(Omega))γ, B → πl+l- and B → K(*) l+l- decays is presented. It was found that (bar Β)(B → (ρ/ω)γ) = (1.01 ± 0.21 ± 0.08) x 10-6, (bar Β)(B+ → πl+l-) < 7.9 x 10-8 at 90% C.L., (bar Β)(B → Kl+l-) = (0.84 ± 0.07 ± 0.02) x 10-6 and (bar Β)(B → K*l+l-) = (0.78-0.17+0.19 ± 0.11) x 10-6. it was also found that different asymmetry measurements are consistent with Standard Model expectations. Based on these results an independent estimate of the |Vtd/Vts| matrix element of the CKM matrix is derived to be |Vtd/Vts| = 0.171-0.021-0.014+0.018+0.017. A first evidence of B+ → ρ+γ decays was found and last year's observation of B0 → ρ0γ was confirmed.
