Description

To prevent effectively nuclear proliferation and to develop confidence-building measures it is necessary to tackle the following problems. Confidence-building measures that take into account the characteristics of the security situation in the Asia-Pacific region should be developed. Common ground should be sought on nuclear proliferation and on measures to prevent such proliferation in the region. Neighbours and countries outside the Korean peninsula have the obligation to make contributions to the development of confidence-building measures in this area
