Description

To validate the gender difference of normal LVEF measurements assessed by Tc-99m MIBI gated myocardial perfusion SPECT gMPS, various parameters were evaluated statistically in both gender and age matched 200 subjects (mean age=58.41±15.01) with a low liklihood of coronary artery disease and LVEF more than 50%. All of the various parameters were significantly different in between male and females. Correlation coefficients (r2) of LVEF versus LVESVi and LVEDVi were 0.66 and 0.39, respectively. In conclusion, there is a significant negative correlations LVEF and LV volume (especially, LVESV) as measured by Tc-99m MIBI gMPS, therefore higher normal LVEF cut-off values should by applied to female
