Nuclear power plant building
Description
Electrical instrumentations for controlling, measuring and operation relevant to the operation and stopping of a nuclear power plant and electrical instrumentation board scontaining them are enhanced within a central control building. The building is made of iron-reinforced concretes which serve both as the radiation shieldings and supporting structures for the electrical instrumentation board. The base of the buildings are supported on the ground substrate to constitute firm building structures capable of maintaining the reactor core in a safety state even upon large earthquakes. Then, electronic computers for monitoring the operation state of the nuclear power plant and the central display boards for displaying the output results thereof are constituted as separate buildings and they are supported by the buildings by way of a seismic proof device and a damping device. The seismic proof device comprise laminated rubber in which thin rubbers and thin steel plates are stacked alternately, while the damping device comprises adhesive dampers, etc. (S.T.)
