Measurement of radioactivity by gamma spectrometry ; samples of olive oil, olive leaves, soil and the olive paste

Description

The oil sector in Tunisia olive occupies the first place in terms of export earnings food and 4th at export nationals in general. Given the importance of this sector, it is important to comply with international standards in force in order to check product quality and strengthen compativity. In that sense our study is based, which focuses on the identification and quantification of radionuclides gamma emitter in olive oil and the chain rides its procurement, which includes the soil, leaves olive, Olives and olive residue. The technique used is the gamma spectrometry, designed to determine the activity of radio nuclides following a logical upward, from the ground up leaves of olive trees, olive oil and olive residue after oil extraction. We have a range of representative samples of these items, collected from three regions of Tunisia (northern, central and south), namely; Sidi Thabet, Korba, Kasserine, Zarzis and Djarba. The study aims to: - Calculate the activity of radio nuclides; 214Pb, 212Pb, 214Bi, 232Bi, 212Th, 238U, 40K and 137Cs. - Compare the activity of radio nuclides studied different regions of Tunisia. - Compare the activities of 40K and 137Cs the standards of the world Health Organization (Who) in oils collected.
