Description
Today's main topics in nuclear physics research are the physics of exotic nuclei, hadron physics and the quark-gluon plasma. The authors review the main experiments performed in French laboratories and the French contributions to international experiments that take place at CERN or in other European laboratories or in Jefferson Lab (Virginia - USA) or at Riken (Japan) or at TRIUMF (Canada). The French international cooperation gets more important because of the commissioning of new high-performance facilities in the world that are in some domains more up-to-date than French facilities or that have no equivalent in France. The international cooperation appears also more important because of the delay taken by the Spiral-2 equipment at GANIL. (A.C.)
