Narrow resonances in (p,π+) reaction, Δ balls and equation of state of nuclear matter

Description
An attempt is made to explain the narrow resonance (E*=350 MeV, Γ=5 MeV) observed in the (p,π+) reaction on the Cu and Ga nuclei making use of the hypothesis that this resonance is a Δ-ball (i.e. a localized Δ-isobar state inside the nucleus). The dependence of the resonance properties upon the equation of state of the nuclear matter is discussed
