Description

New measurements of the Electroweak Standard Model parameters are emerging from the Tevatron Run II. The CDF collaboration has just presented the world's best, single-experiment, measurements of both the W boson mass, at (80413±48) MeV/c2, and width at (2032±71) MeV/c2. Significant improvements in the calibration of the CDF tracker and calorimeters coupled with an improved understanding of the production of W bosons has significantly reduced the systematic uncertainties of both measurements. I will discuss the prospects for improving these measurements over the remainder of Tevatron running
