Monokinetic neutron production by deuterium and tritium gaseous targets
Description
Two gas targets, one filled with deuterium and the other with tritium, are presented which have been designed for the production of fast neutrons from the D(d,n)3He and T(p,n)3He reactions. Cooling for the entrance window is achieved by circulation of the gas itself for the deuterium target and by helium circulation in a double window system for the tritium target. The performance of each target with regard to allowable beam current, neutron flux and neutron energy spread is discussed for neutron energies ranging from 2 to 15 MeV

Deux cibles gazeuses de deuterium et de tritium, destinees a la production de neutrons rapides a partir des reactions D(d,n)3He et T(p,n)3He sont presentees. Le refroidissement des fenetres d'entree des cibles est assure par circulation du gaz lui-meme dans le cas de la cible de deuterium et par circulation d'helium, dans une chambre a deux fenetres, dans le cas de la cible de tritium. Les performances de ces cibles en fonction de la pression du gaz et de l'intensite du faisceau des particules incidentes, ainsi que la dispersion en energie de chacune des cibles sont discutees pour des energies de neutrons comprises entre 2 et 15MeVFiles
