An account of subjects of the conference is presented. The following topics have attracted special attention: use of autotransplantation of bone marrow for therapy of radiation injuries in experiment and in clinic, contribution of limphoid tissue in the process of hemopoesis recovery and attemps of generalized quantitative estimation of the severity of radiation injuries. Most promising approaches in studying the problem of recovery and compensatory processes have also been mapped out
