Polarized electroproduction as a test of parton models with structure

Description
As shown by West, a parton model in which the quark has a small size and anomalous magnetic moment can accommodate the large scaling violation of e⁺e⁻ annihilation into hadrons with the approximate scaling of νW₂ in electroproduction. We point out that a sensitive test of the model is provided by certain structure functions in polarized electroproduction which are predicted to have nearly an order of magnitude larger deviation from scaling than W₁, σ_L/σ_T, or σ(e⁺e⁻->hadrons) at the same q².
