Description
Nuclear industry is the 3. industrial sector in France after aerospace and automobile industries. It gathers about 2600 enterprises whose 80% are small and medium size companies or micro-enterprises and 55% of these enterprises have export activities that represent 16% of their turnover on average. China is the second export market behind Europe. Nuclear industry represents 220.000 jobs and has a global turnover of 50 billion euros. 1 euro invested in nuclear industry generates 3 times as many jobs as in other electricity production sector. In 2016, 3 important players of French nuclear sector: EDF, ORANO and CEA, have founded the France Nuclear Platform whose 4-fold aims are: an efficient management of jobs, skills, competencies and training, the digital conversion of the nuclear industry, the promotion of a circular economy through the closure of the cycle and boosting exports thanks to a better cooperation between the various enterprises of the nuclear sector.
