Analysis of the space-time optical characteristics of erosive plasma jets
Creators
Description
An experiment was devised for sounding an erosive jet formed by aiming a neodynium laser in free generation mode at a zinc target with an auxiliary ruby laser and subsequently making spectroscopic measurements of the jet's parameters. Measurement of the ruby sounding laser's radiation energy balance was performed. Since the wavelengths of the sounding ruby laser and the plasma-forming neodymium laser are similar, the authors assume that the erosive jet also attenuates the radiation from the neodymium laser
