Description

The temperature dependence of the activator cathodoluminescence and the lowtemperature cathodoluminescence splash of KCl-Tl single crystals has been studied with the aim of clarifying the process of hole localization on an activator. The KCl-Tl crystals (3x10-3 mol. part) were irradiated by electron pulses (20 μs, 10 keV, 0.1 mA) at a temperature below the temperature of Vsub(k)-centre autolocalization followed by annealing at 550 K. The splashing coefficient and glowing intensity are shown not to depend on temperature in the 90-200 K range. The same conclusion is true for the probability of hot hole localization on the activator as well
