After having first brought up the question of the quality of nuclear fuel at the level of plant economy and safety, the organization set up for the development of a fuel for a pressurized light water reactor laying stress on the fact that design and manufacturing requirements closely overlap and it is concluded in favour of the fundamental necessity for such a system, with nevertheless a warning against the risks inherent to a parcelling out and a certain devalorization of tasks, the tool set up being above all a means and not an end

Apres avoir rappele les incidences de la qualite du combustible nucleaire au niveau de l'economie et de la surete des installations, les auteurs decrivent l'organisation mise en place pour la realisation du combustible pour reacteur a eau legere pressurisee, soulignent l'etroite imbrication des imperatifs de conception et de fabrication et concluent a la necessite fondamentale d'un tel systeme en mettant toutefois en garde contre les risques inherents a un morcellement et a une certaine devalorisation des tâches, l'outil mis en place restant avant tout un moyen et non une fin.Additional details
