Determination of 222Rn concentration in water from phosphate mine of Pernambuco State

The concentration of 222Rn in water of phosphate reserve from Brazil Northeast is determined by gamma spectrometry with Ge (HP) and alpha spectrometry

Tendo em vista as dimensoes da reserva de fosfato da regiao Nordeste do Brasil e a sua localizacao junto a grandes centros urbanos, procurou-se determinar as concentracoes de 222Rn em fontes de agua desta regiao. Para tanto, foram feitas investigacoes iniciais em tres classes de fontes de uma mina da regiao fosfatica de Pernambuco, localizada no municipio de Cruz de Reboucas. A principio determinaram-se as concentracoes de 222Rn por meio de espectrometria gama com Ge(HP) e por espectrometria alfa com celulas de Lucas. Os valores de 222Rn encontrados na fonte de Agua natural (cacimba), riacho e lago, foram respectivamente, 267, 105 e 25 Bq/1 (7.232, 2.854 e 687 pCi/1). (autor)Files
