Influence of spiral arms on the feature of the initial mass function in the solar neighbourhood
Description
It is shown that the observed minimum of the initial mass function in the 1,5-2,5 Msunorcircle interval proves that the solar orbit is close to the corotation circle of the Galaxy, where the galactic disc and the spiral pattern are rotating synchronously. The depth of the minimum evidences that interstellar matter density in the spiral arm is 6 times as high as interarm density
