A bragg curve spectrograph for heavy ion identification

Description
A Bragg curve spectrograph for heavy ion identification was reported. It is a gaseous ionizatoin chamber with the electric field parallel to the particle track and with the full stopping of the incident particle. It was tested with a ThC-C' α source and a 252Cf source. The energy resolution is better than 1% for 8.785 MeV α particle (ThC'α source). The obtained charge resolution Z/Z is 50
