Description
A Monte Carlo method is described for the calculation of thermal neutron self-shielding factors in which the self-shielding factor is defined via transformation of the volume flux to the surface flux. Numerical results of self-shielding factors calculated for isotropic thermal neutrons of Maxwellian energy distribution impinging on rectangular and cylindrical TLD probes of various dimensions are reported.
