A Finite Element Technique for Eddy Current Testing Simulation

  • 1. Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, Sendai (Japan)

Description

This paper briefly presents results concerning signal prediction of simulated eddy current testing for in-service inspection of the steam generators of pressurized water type reactor in nuclear plants. After general remarks on the application of finite elements to this problem, a finite element technique developed for this testing is described. Finally, simulated signals from cracks of different profiles are compared with experimental measurements. (author)
