The method of obtaining of carrier-free Cobalt 57 radionuclide

Description
With the purposes of reducing the price of final product, decreasing its contamination with impurities from target material and increasing the effectiveness of cyclotron beam using the method of Co57 production without carrier was elaborated. Nickel enriched with Ni58 isotope is coated with the layer d < do on silver layer coating the copper target support. Then the target device is irradiated by protons with 18-20 MeV energy at angle L=arcsin d/do to the nickel layer. The next stage is etching of nickel layers with cobalt produced by hydrochloric acid. The sorption of cobalt is made in extraction chromatography columns. First nickel and then cobalt is washed away from column by hydrochloric acid solutions. The sorption of cobalt is made by anion exchange resins with its successive washing out by hydrochloric acid solution. (author)
