Description
Uranium is present in wet phosphoric acid in significant amount and its chemical state depends on several factors such as the origin of the phosphate rocks, the methods of preparation of wet phosphoric acid and the presence of other impurities. Among the various separation techniques, liquid liquid extraction technique is most efficient for the extraction of uranium. Solvent mixture of TOPO-D2EHPA is often employed for the recovery of uranium from phosphoric acid medium. Limited work has been reported on the effect of diluents on the separation and recovery of uranium from phosphoric acid medium, using D2EHPA and TOPO. Extraction of uranium using 2-ethyl hexyl hydrogen 2-ethyl hexyl phosphonate (PC 88A) has been studied using different diluents in the present studies
