Description

We present a theoretical-experimental work on the energy loss of H and H ions in titanium dioxide (rutile). From the Rutherford backscattering spectra (RBS) the effective braking sections of both ions were determined. On the other hand we worked on the theoretical description using three different models: 1) Mermin Energy-Loss Function - Generalized Oscillator Strength (MELF-GOS), 2) Shellwise Local Plasma Approach (SLPA), and 3) Transport Cross Section - Extended Friedel Sum Rule (TCS-EFSR).

Abstract (Spanish)

Presentamos un trabajo teórico–experimental sobre la pérdida de energía de iones H y He en dióxido de titanio (rutilo). A partir de los espectros de retrodispersión de Rutherford (RBS) se determinaron las secciones eficaces de frenado de ambos iones. Por otro lado se trabajó en la descripción teórica empleando tres modelos diferentes: 1) Mermin Energy-Loss Function - Generalized Oscillator Strength (MELF-GOS), 2) Shellwise Local Plasma Approximation (SLPA), y 3) Transport Cross Section - Extended Friedel Sum Rule (TCS-EFSR).
