Dynamic processes in turbulent flow

Description
Theoretical models of turbulent flows usually have a dynamic nature and more information can be extracted by investigating directly dynamic models for realization. For analytical studies, however, this problem is quite complex. There exists, however, cases when this problem can be solved. One of these cases (the viscous-inertial interaction approximation) is considered. Discussed are the inertial properties of homogeneous turbulence and the viscoinertial approximation. Shown in graph form is the spectrum of longitudinal velocity fluctuations in a jet, a wake, and behind a lattice. The spectrum in a numerical model of two-dimensional turbulence is also shown
