Description
Filters from various materials are inserted into the reactor experimental channel in order to obtain a quasimonoenergetic neutron beam. A very pure scandium filter was designed and tested. It consists of several Sc layers one after the other, embedded in lead, which suitably adapts beam geometry. Mounted at the beginning of this collimator is a boron filter while a filter of manganese or cerium can be installed at its end. A 2 keV quasimonoenergetic neutron beam is thus obtained. (M.S.)
