Description

The 4th Environment Basic Plan mentions that the greenhouse gas emissions in Japan in 2050 will have to be reduced by 80% to achieve the low carbon society. This analysis shows the pathways to realize the 80% reduction target using the AIM (Asia-Pacific Integrated Model). It is concluded that the main countermeasures to achieve the above target are energy efficiency improvement, low carbon electricity and electrification of end-uses. (author)
