Pulse profile of Her X-1 in hard X-rays
Description
In an earlier paper (Iyengar et al., 1974) the upper limit of about 10% in the pulse component of Her X-1 in the energy region 20 to 45 keV was presented. Holt et al. (1974) have reported measurements on the pulsed component between 3-30 keV obtained in a rocket flight. The results for energy > 12 keV indicate that the variable component is about 24% of the continuum emission of the X-ray source. In this report the details of the phase histogram obtained in the analysis which shows the evidence for a possible pulse component between 20-45 keV are presented. (Auth.)
