Studying the efficiency of operation of the system for activity suppression at the Smolensk NPP
Description
Factors affecting efficiency of activity suppression installation (ASI), used at NPP with RBMK-type reactors, are investigated. Formulas for the determination of activity suppression coefficient are obtained. The method of frontal radiochromatography is used in ASI according to which alongside with mass exchange between gaseous mixture and immobile extension, decay of inert radioactive gases absorbed by the extension takes place. For the study the data obtained in the process of the Smolensk-2 NPP operation are used. 5 refs.; 5 figs
