Description

After having outlined assets of the forest-wood sector and levers of mitigation of climate change for this sector, a table of key data is provided to characterize the importance of this sector and its influence on carbon. The role of wood products is outlined by addressing various aspects: carbon sequestration, carbon storage in wood and in wood products, material substitution, energy substitution. The various dynamics of the forest-wood sector are discussed: forest management to maintain the 'carbon sink' function and to support forest production, development of the production towards high-added-value products, development of usages of wood products.
