Description
Selected topics related to the yrast spectroscopy in the 146Gd region are discussed from the point of view of the deformed independent particle model with empirically based spherical single particle energies, a pairing force treated in the BCS approximation with variation of the gap parameters after particle number projection, and Strutinsky renormalization.
