SIGNE 2 MP9 data for the powerful gamma-ray burst of August 1, 1983

Description

The second of two events detected by the SIGNE 2 MP9 experiment on August 1, 1983 appears to have been the strongest gamma-ray burst ever recorded. Although the gamma-ray light curve lacks temporal fine structure, the burst did have a brief precursor pulse. Peak intensity occurred 3 sec earlier in the hard channels than in the soft energy range, reflecting a vigorous evolution of the spectrum
