Electrodiffusion refining of gallium and indium

  • 1. Moskovskij Khimiko-Tekhnologicheskij Inst. (USSR)

Description

A laboratory technique of electrodiffusion gallium and indium refining is described. Electric transfer is performed in sections of melted wire. The investigation is carried out in Ga-Bi, Ga-Ag, In-Ag, In-Bi model systems(the second component is admixture). It is shown that during gallium and indium refining by electric transfer, melted wires made of indium and gallium coated by the natural oxide shell and placed on horizontal substrate can be used as operating elements of capillary reservoir and nonreservoir devices
