Build-up of radioactive deposits in the replacement recirculation piping in Muehleberg

  • 2. Paul Scherrer Inst. (PSI), Villigen (Switzerland)

Description

Gamma spectrometric measurements have been made to follow the recontamination of the recirculation piping in the Muehleberg BWR. The measurements have been made on three separate occasions and show that the rate of recontamination was very rapid during the first year, despite the fact that the piping had been electropolished. The rate of recontamination started to level off after two fuel cycles. (author)
