Metal-ions in biofluids: aluminium in-vitro studies

Description

It can be appreciated that all metals, including the essential ones as aluminium, can be toxic if their uptake is excessive. Much research still has to be done concerning aluminium and its biochemical activities. The stoichiometric stability constants of aluminium III of inorganic phosphates and adenine nucleotides have been determined at ionic strength, 1 = 0,15 and a temperature of 250C using glass electrode potentiometry and computer modelling. The protonation sequence for tripolyphosphate has been determined using 31P NMR studies
