Spectroscopic study of 44Ti by reactions 40Ca(α,γ)44Ti, 40Ca(7Li,p2nγ)44Ti and 42Ca(α,2nγ)44Ti

Description

The first reaction allowed to populate states of excitation energies between 9.2 and 9.8 MeV and to measure their γ-decays to low-lying states in 44Ti. Moreover this reaction helps in measuring the mean lifetime of 12 states by using the Doppler shift attenuation method. The second reaction was used to find the levels predicted by the shell model and among them the highest spin allowed Jsup(π)=12+. The third reaction helps in measuring the mean lifetime tau=3.0+-0.6 ns of the Jsup(π)=(12+) state at Esub(x)=8.040 MeV. In this measurement the delayed coincidence technique with a pulsed beam was used. A confrontation of the experimental and theoretical studies on the 44Ti nucleus is presented in this work

Abstract (French)

La premiere reaction a permis de mettre en evidence des niveaux resonnants situes entre 9,2 et 9,8 MeV et de mesurer leur decroissance vers les niveaux bas du 44Ti. Elle a permis en outre de mesurer les vies de 12 niveaux par la methode de l'effet Doppler attenue. La seconde reaction a permis de mettre en evidence les niveaux predits par le modele en couches et parmi eux celui dont le spin le plus eleve permis est Jsup(π)=12+. La troisieme reaction a permis de mesurer la vie moyenne de ce niveau Jsup(π)=(12+), situe a Esub(x)=8,040 MeV, tau=3,0+-0,6 ns, par la methode des coincidences retardees avec un faisceau pulse. Une revue des etudes theoriques et experimentales entreprises sur le noyau 44Ti est presentee dans ce travail
