Method to allow savings for nuclear reactors by using beryllium rods in fuel element clusters

Description
By inserting Be or Be compounds into the fuel element cluster of a heavy-water moderated nuclear reactor the DO2 inventory is reduced. In LWRs this insertion leads to a reduction of enrichment. This measures shall cause reductions in cost. (TK)

Durch den Einsatz von Be bzw. Be-Verbindungen in das Brennstoffbuendel eines Schwerwasser-moderierten Kernreaktors wird der Bestand an D2O reduziert. Bei LWR fuehrt dieser Einsatz zur Verminderung der Anreicherung. Durch diese Massnahme sollen Kosteneinsparungen bewirkt werden. (TK)Files
