Introduction of New Additional Module Regarding Nuclear Science Towards PIPA

Malaysian Nuclear Agency has long been conducting Public Awareness activities on nuclear technology and its specific applications for secondary school students across Malaysia since the 1980s. In addition, for the general public, public awareness programs are more focused on exhibitions held as well as public hearing sessions held at the invitation of certain parties. This public awareness program focuses on using lecture modules on radiation base, radiation safety, radioactive material introduction, abuse hazard, introduction to Malaysian Nuclear Agencies, nuclear technology applications and electricity generation through nuclear energy and related exhibits. This paper describes the introduction of hands-on and demonstration activities on nuclear science as an added value to the current public awareness program. (author)
