Description

Nuclear fuel, a product available to utilities, represents a whole set of industrial conversion processes, starting with natural uranium and going up to fuel assemblies ready to be loaded into the reactor, as well as the various operations on the spent fuel after its use in nuclear reactors. A complex industry has gradually developed at all stages of the fuel cycle. Recent developments in the nuclear fuel industry correspond to developments in the processes employed and to changes in utilities requirements, from both the technical and economic points of view and the market viewpoint.
