Properties of ultrathin YBa2Cu3O7 layers in YBa2Cu3O7/PrBa2Cu3O7 superlattices

Description
We report on the Tc behavior of YBa2Cu3O7/PrBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO/PrBCO) superlattices with constant, either 12 A or 24 A YBCO layers, and increasing thickness of the PrBCO layers (d-PrBCO). For both series Tc first decreases with increasing d-PrBCO, and for d-PrBCO>60-70 A a plateau at about 50 K for the 24 A YBCO series and 10 K for 12 A series is observed. (orig.)
