Influence of the soil components on the radiation-induced mutation frequency in Tradescantia
Description
The effect of magnesium content in various types of dolomites on mutation frequency induced by radiation in Tradescantia 4430 was studied. Different radiation doses and various kinds of dolomites added to the soil were applied. Conclusions were based on changes in the frequency of somatic mutations induced by X-irradiation in cells of Tradescantia stamen hairs. In plants grown on the soil with the dolomite admixture a transient change appears in mutation frequency induced by radiation. 6 refs., 2 figs., 5 tabs. (author)
