Ultrasonic attenuation due to phonon-phonon interaction
Description
In the present paper, an attempt has been made to explain ultrasonic attenuation due to phonon-phonon interaction in AgBr and NiO as a function of temperature along <111> direction from 100 K-450 K for the characterization of materials. For this evaluation we have also calculated second and third order elastic constants, ultrasonic velocities, Grueneisen numbers and thermal relaxation time. Important characteristic features well connected to the acoustical parameters are discussed. (author)
