The dynamics of the nuclear disassembly in a field-theoretical model at finite entropies

  • 1. Gesellschaft fuer Schwerionenforschung m.b.H., Darmstadt (Germany, F.R.)

Description

The expansion phase of a hot nuclear system as created in an energetic heavy-ion collision is calculated and discussed by a self-consistent field-theoretical model. Dynamical instabilities arising during the expansion from strong fluctuations of the one-body density are included explicitly. First multiplicity distributions and mass spectra resulting from a series of numerical runs in a 2+1 dimensional model world are presented. The dependence of the break-up dynamics both on the properties of the binding force and possible correlations in the initially compressed hot state are discussed. (orig.)
