Steel parts of nuclear power plant containments

Description

The properties are considered of containment for reactors being built in Czechoslovakia, especially from the point of view of leak protection and behaviour during a design basis accident. The following types of containment are considered: double containments with a steel inner lining, single containments with leak protection lining, single containments with both inner and outer jackets as bearing structures. The production is described of steel parts as is production technology and assembly of inner protective steel containments and of steel linings for single containments from reinforced concrete, using reinforced concrete blocks or auxiliary steel structures. Also described are the assembly of the lining consisting of annular rings or segments and the assembly of the outer and the inner jackets of a single reinforced concrete containment. (J.B.)
